A thin wife is more likely to have a happy marriage.

Researchers from the University of Tennessee concluded that a marriage is happiest when she is weaker than her husband and this is attributed to the particular importance they give to young couples on the show and especially the appearance of the woman.

The survey was conducted in 169 honeymooners, younger than 35 years. For a period of 4 years the couple, per semester, they answered a specific questionnaire about their marriage.

The conclusion then was that men were heavier than their wives were happier than those who had the same or slimmer. Indeed, this difference remained unchanged over time.

The same was true for women, ie, those that were weaker than their husbands were more satisfied with their marriage than did the rest.

These correlations did not change even when the researchers accounted other factors that may affect satisfaction with marriage, such as depression and the economic situation of the couple.
