Attackers do get most of the credit in every Football match for either scoring or assisting goals for them to win the Match.But in this World Cup we have seen Goalkeepers play really well in order to make sure their team moves to the next round. Not all the Goalkeepers have been able to keep their country in the tournament but here we look at the TOP 5 Goalkeepers who were brilliant for their respective countires in the 2014 World Cup .

#5 Guillermo Ochoa – Mexico

Ochoa surely made a name for himself in this world cup with some fantastics saves in the tournament.The game against Brazil only ended 0-0 due to his fantastic performance.He had a save rate of 77 % in the tournament making him one of the difficult goalkeepers to score against. 

 

#4 Keylor Navas – Costa Rica

Navas was another talented goalkeeper seen in this FIFA World Cup.His excellent save rate of 87.5 % shows how good he was in the entire tournament.He plays his football for spanish club Levante but his performance in the world cup has surely made big clubs interested in him .

#3 Vincent Enyeama – Nigeria

Even though Nigeria didn’t have good defence in them, Vincent Enyeama made sure his country didn’t go out of the World Cup tournament without a good fight.His save rate of 80 % in the entire tournament made him a really crucial player for his country.

In the 2013-14 season he kept a clean sheet in 21 matches for Lille and made sure his side played Champions League footbal next season.

 

#2 Manuel Neuer – Germany

We don’t need to tell about this guy who is certainly the best goalkeeper in the world right now.The Bayern Munich man has certainly proved himself how good he is and how difficult it is to get the ball past him.In the game against France,Neuer made some fantastic saves to make sure that Germany reached to the Semi finals of the Wolrd cup.He made some good saves in the game against Brazil as well.

Neuer already has 2 clean sheet in his name in this World cup and the save rate of 81 % . 

#1 Tim Howard – USA

In the match against Belgium,Tim Howard made history by being the first Goalkeeper to make 16 saves in a single game.He had a save rate of  82 %.His performace in the World cup has been brilliant and the Everton man will be hopeful of carrying that form with himself in the Permier League next season.
